Just to be clear. You can visit the town hall from 8:30am up to 8:00pm on the 21st. Not just between the hour of 4:30-8pm to get your ballots if you didn’t receive one. These hours also apply on the 26th. Every other day is normal hours 8:30am-4:30pm

🚧 Water Service Disruption Notice 🚧

The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) will be completing repairs to the water system on Friday, October 16, which may result in temporary water service interruptions between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for the following areas:
• Daniel St. south of Spring St.
• East Church St. east of Daniel St.
• Wheelock St. south of East Church St.
• Erin Library area.

Once service is restored, some residents may experience discoloured water. If this occurs, remove faucet aerators and flush your household water lines until the water runs clear. Flushing hot water tanks is also recommended.

Want to return your Voting Kit by mail? Today, Thursday October 15th is the last day to deposit it in the mail. 📨

If you cannot place it in the mail today, that's ok! You have until Monday October 26th at 8:00 p.m. to drop it off at Town Hall. If you haven’t received your Voting Kit in the mail yet, please visit Town Hall with valid identification and election staff will issue one to you.

Mail completed kits by Thursday, October 15, or drop them off at Town Hall until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26. A 24/7 drop box is available at the front entrance to Town Hall.

Next week, election staff will be holding a special evening session at Town Hall on Wednesday, October 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to issue Voting Kits to individuals who did not receive one and are unable to attend during regular business hours. Staff will be available to assist you up to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26.

Residents from 9 to 19 Douglas Cres. may experience reduced water pressure during this period.
Once complete, homes in the area may experience discoloured water. If so, please remove the aerator on your taps and flush them until water runs clear.

The paper asked me a few questions about why I was running, what was different and what I hoped to achieve. My answers are as follows. I have decided to run for Mayor in the upcoming election. With extensive experience, deep community involvement, and a strong passion for our town, I am ready to provide the leadership our community needs for the next term.

This election comes at a critical time. While managed growth remains important, we now face pressing new challenges that were not present during my previous terms:

• Amendments to OP 131 and rural severances,

• A proposed large-scale commercial pit-filling operation slated to run for 20 years,

• The depletion of our tax stabilization reserves, and

• Significant delays and cost overruns tied to growth-related projects.

As Mayor, my priority will be to restore fiscal responsibility and chart a balanced path forward on these important issues. During my last two terms, we delivered six consecutive years of budget surpluses and successfully rebuilt our reserves. I am committed to bringing that same disciplined approach back to the council table.

I look forward to earning your support as we work together to protect our community’s future.
