Erin Council has directed staff to apply to the Ontario Development Charge Reduction Program—a major federal-provincial initiative aimed at lowering development costs and supporting new home construction.
If successful, the Town is proposing a 50% reduction in development charges, helping to make housing more affordable while supporting growth in our community.
This program could also help fund critical infrastructure projects like roads, water systems, and emergency services—building on investments already made to prepare Erin for future growth.
Council will consider next steps later this summer if the application is approved.
