The Eskasoni Fire Department is asking everyone to please take extra precautions this weekend with the amount of rain in the forecast.
With heavy rainfall, we may see flooding, pooling water, washouts, slippery roads, and possible power outages. Please plan ahead and be prepared.
🚨 A few reminders:
• Avoid driving through flooded or washed-out roads. If you can’t see the road underneath the water, do not attempt to cross.
• Keep an eye on changing road conditions and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain.
• Make sure you have flashlights, extra batteries, candles, and emergency supplies available in case of a power outage.
• Keep phones and portable power banks charged.
• Check on elderly family members, neighbours, and anyone who may need assistance.
• If you have a basement or areas prone to flooding, take precautions now to protect your belongings.
• Never use a generator, barbecue, or other fuel-burning equipment indoors or inside a garage.
