The new flock of Ravens have touched down at HMCS VENTURE (CFB Esquimalt) for their 7 week program!! 🐦 La nouvelle volée de Ravens a atterri à la BFC Esquimalt, NCSM VENTURE!!

Raven is a national program that takes place on Vancouver Island at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt and runs from July to August each summer. Raven is a unique blend of Indigenous teachings and naval-oriented military training showing the potential for part-time employment or a full-time career with the Canadian Armed Forces.

Raven est un programme national qui prend place, sur l'île de Vancouver, à la Base des Forces canadiennes Esquimalt, et qui se déroule de juillet à août à chaque été. Raven est un mélange unique d'enseignements autochtones et d’entraînement militaire axée sur la marine démontrant la possibilité d'un emploi à temps partiel ou d'une carrière à temps plein au sein des Forces armées canadiennes.

Heads up, Vancouver Island!
CF-18 fighter jets will be active in the skies from June 15–22 as part of routine training exercises. The aircraft from 4 Wing (Cold Lake) will be operating out of 19 Wing (Comox), with increased activity — especially along the west coast (Tofino to San Josef Bay) — including low-level flights that may be louder than usual.
These exercises help keep crews ready to defend Canada’s airspace and support NORAD and other operations. Activities are carefully planned to ensure safety while minimizing disruption.
Keep an eye (and ear) on the skies this week!

Attention, île de Vancouver !
Des chasseurs CF 18 seront actifs dans le ciel du 15 au 22 juin dans le cadre d’exercices d'entraînement courants. Les aéronefs de la 4e Escadre (Cold Lake) opéreront à partir de la 19e Escadre (Comox), avec une activité accrue — particulièrement le long de la côte ouest (de Tofino à la baie San Josef) — incluant des vols à basse altitude qui pourraient être plus bruyants qu’à l’habitude.
Ces exercices permettent de maintenir l’état de préparation des équipages afin de défendre l’espace aérien du Canada et d’appuyer le NORAD ainsi que d’autres opérations. Les activités sont soigneusement planifiées afin d’assurer la sécurité tout en minimisant les perturbations.
Gardez l’œil (et l’oreille) tournés vers le ciel cette semaine !
