This week the contractor completed the curb installation on the east side of Main Street; continued granular road base preparation; and commenced watermain commissioning. Watermain tie-ins and service transfers will be carried out next week, after successful watermain commissioning. Base asphalt on the east side of Main Street will be placed after completion of all watermain work; with sidewalks scheduled immediately thereafter. One lane of traffic in both directions will remain on Main Street until completion of all work on the east side of the roadway.

Businesses remain open during construction; access to homes and businesses will be reasonably maintained throughout construction. With traffic disrupted and lanes reduced, please expect delays and plan accordingly.
Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Be sure to cast your vote in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election!

Voter turnout is determined by the number/percentage of eligible voters who participate in an election by either casting a vote or formally declining their ballot. Declining a ballot declares an intention of an individual to not vote. Formally declining a ballot is different from someone not voting, as the individual has chosen to participate in the election process. Below is a recap of voter turnout during the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election - let's see if we can beat these numbers this year!
South Huron's overall voter turnout for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election was 44.5% of eligible voters, which was above the provincial average (32.9%).

Voter turnout by age:
28.0% of eligible 18-24 year olds
24.20% of eligible 25-34 year olds
33.30% of eligible 35-44 year olds
45.23% of eligible 45-54 year olds
49.64% of eligible 55-64 year olds
59.86% of eligible 65-74 year olds
54.74% of eligible 75+ year olds

Voter turnout by ward:
- Ward 1, Stephen - 41.40%
- Ward 2, Exeter - 48.16%
- Ward 3, Usborne - 40.06%

If you have not received your Voter Information Letter yet please contact the Election Team by dropping into town hall, visiting one of the various voter helpdesk pop up locations, call 519-235-0310x0 or email [email protected]
