This past Thursday night at training Exeter station went to the apartments at 15 James Street for a little pre incident planning. Training this night involved connecting the Pumper to the standpipe on the building, dragging a pre-connect ( un-charged) through the stairwell to the 4th floor and down the hallway.
We also trained on taking the Hi-rise pack to the 2nd floor where we went over connecting to the building's fire cabinets, and then re-packed the Hi-rise pack into its bundle. From there a 2 1/2" line was dragged to the back side of the build with a gated wye and 2 - 1 1/2 lines with nozzles.

After these evolutions we comple and the Pumper was packed back up we then went over the best placement for the ladder truck on the south side of the apartments.

Thank you to Baker Holdings Corporation for allowing us use of the build for our training.

This evening South Huron Ladder 15 went to Lucan for their training night.

Firefighters went over how much space would be needed to set up the ladder and how much water the ladder would need in both a rural and town setup if required for call for service requiring ladder support.

After going over that firefighters if they wanted to were able to climb the ladder fully extended to 105 feet.

Thank you to Lucan Fire Department for inviting us out to your training night

Last night at practice Exeter station trained on pump operations and water supply.

Water supply was set up for the ladder to draft from our porta tanks and our 2 tankers were used to supply the ports tanks, utilizing a nearby hydrant for filling the tankers for the return to setup

A flow rate of 700 gpm was achieved through the master stream on the ladder

At that rate the ladder will empty 1 porta tank in just over 2 minutes

Last evening at practice at the Exeter station, firefighters trained on RIT (rapid intervention team), and calling mayday's in the event a fire fighter becomes trapped, lost or disoriented or other possible events in which they need help to get out.

During these training evolutions firefighters were on air and had their balaclavas over their scba masks to simulate near zero visibility.
