The 2026 Census matters because accurate population counts help communities like Fairview receive the funding, infrastructure, healthcare, schools, housing, and representation we need. Every person counted helps shape planning and investment for years to come. Make sure our community counts.

Several factors, including severe weather, can cause utility outages. Power outages can disrupt connections with loved ones and access to essential services we rely on, including banking or grocery stores.

Although we can’t predict when a power outage will occur, we can take steps to reduce the impact on our daily routines:

· Keep backup lighting and alternative power options readily available: Store battery powered/Hand powered devices like crank radios, fans, lanterns, solar lights, and candles where you can easily find them, even in the dark.

· Plan for meals without power: Practice preparing no cook meals or have a plan to use a barbecue safely outside. Check the Canada
food guide for no cook recipes. Note: natural gas stoves can be used to prepare food but are not to be used as a heat source.

· Make a communication plan: Think about how you will stay connected with your loved ones if communications are disrupted. Could you set up a group text, social media chat, or shared email distribution list in advance?

Visit the Be Prepared website and watch the How can you prepare for an outage? video for more preparedness steps you can take before a power outage occurs.

We are excited to have Dunvegan Market Gardens next for the Patio Series on Canada Day! See more details below!

🇨🇦 We're pleased to announce that Dunvegan will be hosting its very First Patio Series on Canada Day, featuring live music performances by Barret Lungard and Jaydee Bixby. 🎶 Music will kickoff at 6pm and end around 9pm

The evening's festivities will start at 5:30 p.m. with a delectable selection of local 'farm to table' food available for purchase. Guests can enjoy a Bison on a Bun meal-buffet style inside the main doors of the ice cream/kitchen building for $25, or opt for Taco in a Bag ($12) and Bison hot dogs ($5) at the back window overlooking the golf course. To avoid lengthy lineups, meal tickets can be purchased in advance at the Kitchen/Ice Cream Building starting today.
We invite you to bring your picnic chairs and blankets for an enjoyable evening of music, friends, and delicious food. Limited seating will be available.

Cold beverages will be available for purchase on the grassy area, and cash, debit, and credit payments will be accepted. There will be extra washrooms on site, parking, and lots of signs to help you relax enjoy the evening!
We look so forward to sharing this day with all of you! 🇨🇦
