Working with Elk Valley Better At Home and the Sparwood Old Age Pensioners (SOAP), we are trying to gauge interest in bus trips that will be organized and facilitated by Elk Valley Better At Home.

If you can please complete the very brief (just a few questions!) survey at the link below as so that they can build the most effective program, it would be much appreciated!

Sunday Social Year-End Barbeque happening on Sunday, May 31 - all members welcome!

Games - 4pm
Barbeque - 6pm

Cost is $10 person and includes burger, salads, and dessert.

BYOB and a game to share if you like. Giant Jenga, bean bag toss, pool, shuffleboard, cards all happening as well!

Join the Fernie Women's Resource Centre for an afternoon High Tea to celebrate Mother’s Day!

Invite your friends, bring someone special in your life, or share tea with someone new! We’ll provide all the trimmings, including sandwiches, pastries, scones, and a selection of teas. Fascinators, gloves, and florals encouraged!

The afternoon will feature trivia games and door prizes, with all proceeds going towards the Fernie Women’s Centre Emergency Fund.

Host a Table: This event will be set up with 15 tables that seat six each. We encourage friends to gather a group and book out a table! To make sure you’re all seated together, we suggest one person purchasing tickets on behalf of the whole table.

Want to come just by yourself, or with a friend? No worries, single tickets are available! It will be a great chance to share some friendly conversation with someone new.

Showcase your China: We are seeking 15 hosts who would like to share their beautiful China Tea Setting for six people. If you would like to attend this event and bring your tea set, or would simply like to lend out your set for the afternoon, please email [email protected].

CALL FOR MUSICIANS!

The Station Strings are looking for new members who play instruments.

Since 2002, the Station Strings have been meeting Wednesdays to share our music. For the last number of years we have been playing at Trinity Lodge, Rocky Mountain Village, the Senior’s Drop-in Centre and the Legion.

Our repertoire covers many genres and is mostly acoustic. We are particularly looking for melody or rhythm instruments.

Interested musicians must be available Wednesday afternoons (we usually play from 2-3pm).

Although we are known as the Station Strings, other instruments are welcome. If you think you might be a good fit for our group, please contact Nici Blackwell at 250-423-1442 or email [email protected].
