🧺You may have noticed that picnic tables have arrived at Station Square, providing another outdoor gathering space for residents and visitors all summer long.

🌞To make the most of this space for community events like the popular Wednesday Socials, the City closes the parking lot to vehicles seasonally from June to September. The public washrooms at Station Square stay open year-round from 8:00am-8:00pm daily.

🎤Check out The Fernie Arts Station to see the line up for this year's Wednesday Socials!

📢Survey Reminder: We're looking for your feedback on Community Bins to help inform the future of the service. Click the link below to learn more on our Let's Talk Fernie project page and provide your input by June 22!

🚮The City of Fernie has four bear-resistant bins around town that are available 24/7 for public use. These bins were meant to help residents who miss their curbside pickup or don’t have a safe place to store garbage between collection days.

🚫Lately, the bins have been used in ways they weren’t intended for—like dumping large items, furniture, and commercial waste. This fills them up quickly, makes it harder for others to use them, and leads to garbage being left outside the bins.
Because of these issues, the service can’t continue the way it is now. We want your feedback to help inform what comes next.

💬 Have your say at letstalk.fernie.ca/communitybins.

📘 What is an Annual Report, anyway? And what’s an AGM got to do with it? 🧐
If you've ever wondered what your local government actually does all year—this one's for you! 👇
Every year, BC municipalities, like the City of Fernie, publish an Annual Report (it’s a requirement). It’s a snapshot of the year that was—highlighting key projects, financials, staff and Council updates, and progress on strategic goals. Basically, it's the story of what we planned to do, what we got done (and how), and where we're headed next. 🏗️🌲📈
🗣️✅The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is your chance to ask questions, share feedback, and help shape what matters to you.
💻 Check out the report here: letstalk.fernie.ca/2025amr
📍 Join us on June 23, for the AGM: 6:30 pm at the Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, 562 3rd Ave, or online by our Zoom webinar at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85016790612
💬 Can't make it in person, but have a question about something in the report? Curious how we measure success? Provide your feedback here: https://letstalk.fernie.ca/2025amr or by email to [email protected] with the subject line "2025 Annual Municipal Report".

❗ Wildlife Advisory – Moose Calf at Maiden Lake

Thank you for helping keep both people and wildlife safe.
