We are pleased to announce that the Elkford Aquatic Center is scheduled to reopen on October 2nd!

The repairs completed were necessary to ensure a safe environment for patrons and staff and protect the long-term condition of the facility.

We know this closure was unexpected, and we sincerely appreciate the community’s patience, understanding and ongoing support throughout the process.

A special thank you to the contractors, technical specialists, and District staff who worked diligently to complete the repairs.

This date remains dependent on all remaining preparations and inspections proceeding as expected, and we are feeling very positive about the progress.

If all goes to plan, we’ll be making a splash together very soon!

🔥 Campfires Permitted Again in Elkford 🔥

Good news! The Province has lifted the Category 1 Campfire Prohibition for the Southeast Fire Centre, which includes Elkford.

If you're planning to enjoy a campfire, please continue to follow all applicable Provincial and local regulations to help prevent wildfires and keep our community safe.

🏕️ Backyard campfires within the District require a free campfire permit. Permits are available at District Hall or can be downloaded here:https://elkford.civicweb.net/filepro/document/69570/Burn%20Permit%20Application%20Form.pdf

Before lighting your campfire:
💧 Have water and tools readily available
🌲 Review current fire restrictions and conditions
👀 Never leave a fire unattended
🧯 Ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving
