This clever cat took matters into its own paws and showed up at the District’s Bylaw Animal Shelter on Front Street at dusk last night.

With colder temperatures settling in, and bears and coyotes being spotted nearby, please help keep your furry family members safe and warm at home.

As a friendly reminder, the District’s Animal Responsibility Bylaw requires dogs and cats to be licensed and not permitted to roam at large. https://elkford.civicweb.net/document/89745

🔥 Wildfire Mitigation Burn Today | Lot 58, Dalton Place

As part of the District of Elkford’s ongoing wildfire mitigation efforts, Nupqu Resource LP will be conducting a burn today at Lot 58, Dalton Place.

The burn is part of planned wildfire hazard-reduction and mitigation work in the area.

Residents may see smoke and active burning while this work is underway. Please stay clear of the active work area and obey all posted signs and directions.

🌲 This work is part of ongoing efforts to reduce wildfire hazards and strengthen our community’s resilience to wildfire.

A cat has been found on Needles Crescent.

If you recognize this little one as your pet, please contact Bylaw Enforcement at 250-865-4024 as soon as possible.

🥶 With temperatures getting colder, please help keep your pets safe and make sure they are secure at home.

A reminder to Elkford pet owners: cats and dogs over three months old are required to have a valid District licence for the current calendar year, and the licence tag must be kept attached to the pet. Pets are also not permitted to roam at large.

Licensing your pet can also make it much easier to identify them and get them home when they decide to go on an unexpected adventure!
