• Organized by a Township of Southwold committee or affiliated group.

🚧 𝗜𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝘄𝗼 – 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴

Work is continuing along Iona Road from Third Line to the Thames River bridge as crews complete the final stage of a multi-step road rehabilitation project.

🔧 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
The first stage of the project included recycling the existing asphalt on site and reusing it as the new road base. The final stage includes applying the top layer of asphalt, completing line painting, and improving the road shoulders by building up and grading the gravel along the edges of the roadway.

📅 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲
Beginning Thursday, July 16, crews will complete the final paving, followed by line painting, and shoulder improvements (weather permitting).

🚦𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀
Drivers should expect:
• Single lane closures during daytime hours.
• A pilot vehicle guiding traffic safely through the construction area.

🚧 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲

Sanitary sewer installation continues south of the future pump station along Union Road toward Fingal Line. Crews are currently focused on underground servicing, with upcoming work requiring temporary full closures at three locations.

🚧 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Over the coming weeks, Union Road will have three temporary full closures to complete sanitary sewer installations and a new concrete culvert crossing. Timelines are tentative and may change due to weather and site conditions.

𝗔. 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁
📅 Beginning Monday, July 13
Crews will close Union Road at Lanark Street for approximately two days to install sanitary sewer connections along Lanark Street. Through traffic, including EMS access, will not be available during the full closures, EMS will have to utilize the posted detours. Residents north of Lanark Street should access the area from the north via Union Road, while residents south of Lanark Street should use Fingal Line.

𝗕. 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁
📅 Tentatively beginning Wednesday, July 15
Crews will close Union Road at Fowler Street while installing sanitary sewers west along Fowler Street. This work is expected to continue through Friday. Residents north of Fowler Street will continue to have access via Union Road or Lanark Street.

𝗖. 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 (𝟴𝟭𝟰𝟲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱)
📅 Beginning Monday, July 20
Union Road will be fully closed at the Fowler Drain to install a new concrete culvert crossing. This work is expected to take two to three weeks, depending on weather, site conditions, and creek conditions.

🚗 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀
• Union Road remains closed to all non-local or essential traffic within the construction area
• Through traffic will not be available during closure periods. Please follow posted detours
• Temporary access restrictions may occur while crews are working directly in front of properties
• Local access will be maintained where possible
