River’s Edge Atelier and Rainy River EarlyON Centre Now Open

The District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB) is pleased to announce that River’s Edge Atelier, a directly operated licensed child care centre, and the Rainy River EarlyON Child and Family Centre are now open at 202 Little Street in Rainy River. Both programs are co-located with the new Rainy River K–12 School and began welcoming families on August 31, 2026.

Happy Back to School! 📚🍎

To celebrate back-to-school season, the DRRSB team took a trip down memory lane and recreated our Grade 3 school-photo days.

From big smiles to classic school-picture poses, this was a fun reminder that learning, laughter and a little bit of playfulness are important at every age!

Now Hiring: HOPE Support Workers

The District of Rainy River Services Board is hiring HOPE Support Workers to support the operation of our after-hours HOPE programs in Fort Frances.

These six-month contract opportunities are available in full-time and casual/call-in capacities. In this role, you will help ensure a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for program guests and residents during after-hours operations.

Rate of pay: $32.43 per hour, plus 6% vacation pay and 10% in lieu of benefits.

🏠 Canada-Ontario Housing Benefit (COHB) is currently available in the Rainy River District!

The District of Rainy River Services Board has once again been allocated COHB funding for 2026–2027. Last year, this program helped more than 10 households reduce their rental costs, and we are pleased to be able to offer this support again.

COHB provides financial assistance to eligible low-income households to help with rent in the private rental market.

To be considered, applicants must:
• Live in the Rainy River District
• Be on, or eligible to be on, the social housing waitlist
• Meet program eligibility requirements

Households already receiving rent-geared-to-income assistance or another government-funded housing benefit are generally not eligible.
