The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce Home Show is a weekend full of excitement with over 70 exhibitors and approximately 4000 visitors each year. The weekend-long event will feature booths from many local businesses, a boat and outdoors show, a kids' corner, the Fort Frances Strongman Challenge, and tons of draws and prizes. The town of Fort Frances is very excited about the return of the strongma
n event. All athletes will receive an event T-shirt, hotel room, dinner, refreshments at the event, and on-site medical care. The Fort Frances Strongman Competition will take the main stage in the memorial arena on Saturday afternoon to close out the home show weekend. This event will be part of the Ontario Strength Athlete Series that will see top athletes from across Ontario, Western Canada, and the US compete for first place in events comparable to those seen on TV at the World's Strongest Man Competition. There will be an after party for the event at Boston Pizza with a meet and greet with the fans. The women's challenge this year will be clean and press of an Oympic bar weighing 95lbs for reps (one clean). These huge men will be competing in six events, including:
1) Dump Truck Pull
2) Overhead Press Medley- 160lbs Circus DB, 270 and 310lbs log, 250lbs yoke, and 290lbs axel press.
3) Car Deadlift
4) Crucifix Hold- 45lbs per hand
5) Medley- 330lbs farmer's Walk, Keg Carry, and 950lbs tire flip
6) Atlas Stone over bar- 350lbs over 56" bar.
