Just a reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday September 1st, is the first day back to school for most elementary and high school students!

Keep an eye out for all those students on their way to and from school and be safe!

The Rainy River District School Board welcomes staff, students, families, and community partners to a new school year!

Classes for all Grades 1-12 students will begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Staggered entry will take place this year for Kindergarten students. Please see post pinned on our page for more information on those dates.

Our remaining inventory sold faster than anticipated ... we are now officially closed for the season as our remaining student staff are back in school tomorrow!

We want to thank everyone for their patronage throughout the season! We served up a lot of ice cream this summer! Counting down the days until next spring!

Got stuff to sell? Skip the work of hosting your own garage sale and join us at the Memorial Sports Centre!

For just $10 + HST, you get a 10' x 10' selling space, one table and two chairs.

Set up Friday afternoon, sell Saturday, and when it’s over, leave behind anything you’d like to donate for Salvation Army pickup.

Clear out the clutter, make a little cash, and maybe find a treasure or two along the way!

The end of August is always a bittersweet time in the Community Services and Facilities Division.

Many of our student staff are preparing to head off to university or college, while others are getting ready to return to high school.

Throughout the summer, our students fill important roles across our community - at the Pool 🏊, Summer Camps, the Museum and Rainy Lake Square and the Sorting Gap Marina 🍦.

Their energy, enthusiasm and hard work help make our summer programs, facilities and events possible.

To all of our students: thank you for everything you contributed this summer!

We wish you nothing but success as you head back to school and embark on your next adventures. We hope to see many of you back again next summer! ☀️
