Please water on your assigned odd or even calendar days and avoid watering during restricted daytime hours.

These rules help conserve water, reduce strain on the Town’s water system, and limit water loss from evaporation during the midday heat.

Municipal Enforcement will inspect alleys for garbage, discarded furniture, overgrown vegetation, stored materials, derelict items, and vehicles that may block access for residents, emergency services, utilities, waste collection, or Town operations.

Please check the rear of your property, fence line, and alley edge. Maintaining clean and accessible alleys reduces hazards, enhances neighbourhood appearance, and ensures safe access for all.

In the heart of southern Alberta, Lluvia was known as the little dog who loved the rain.
Neighbours would see her trotting down the river path, her red scarf fluttering, eyes full of wonder. She had a way of looking at people as if she understood every word.

But during a sudden windstorm, a gate latch failed.
And Lluvia slipped out into the night.

Her family searched for hours—calling her name in the rain, walking every street, checking every yard. By morning, posters were up. By afternoon, still no sign. Like so many pets who go missing each year, she had simply vanished.

What no one knew was that Lluvia had wandered far from home, cold and exhausted, until she curled under a bench on the edge of town. That’s where someone finally spotted her.

And what saved her wasn’t luck.
It wasn’t chance.
It was the small purple Town of Fort Macleod Dog Licence hanging from her collar.

One call. One quick ID check.
Her family was contacted immediately.
Lluvia was home before nightfall—tired, wet, and trembling, but safe in the arms of the people who love her most.

A dog licence did that.
A simple tag made all the difference.

Every year, pets go missing in our community. Many could be returned home within minutes—if they had a municipal dog tag. Licences prevent costly fines, keep pets out of shelters, and help reunite families faster than any poster, any search party, or any social media post ever can.

Licensing your dog isn’t just the law. It’s protection. It’s peace of mind. It’s a lifeline.
Keep your best friend safe. Make sure they’re licensed.

With the school year soon underway, our streets and playground zones are busier than ever. Safe driving and parking habits are crucial to protecting children who walk, bike, or board buses.
Slow down in playground zones – maximum speed is 30 km/h from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.

Stay alert – children don't perceive traffic the same way adults do; give them extra time and space.

Park smart – always leave at least five metres clear from a crosswalk, and never double park or stop in school bus zones.
