🧙‍♀️ Witches dance
🌌 Haunted maze
🍬 Trick-or-treat
🌭 We’ll be serving hot dogs, drinks and cookies!

We are looking forward to seeing you on Victoria Day weekend at Fort St. James National Historic Site! 🥳👋

We have a fun-filled day lined up for Monday, May 19:

🥞 9 – 11 am: Breakfast (free with admission)
🐰 10 am – 12 pm: Easter egg hunts with Easter bunny, organized by the Friends of the Fort St. James National Historic Site
🐔 2 pm: Chicken races

🎁 The Friends gift shop will be open with new inventory in the visitor centre.

May 5 is National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWGS2+), also known as Red Dress Day.

🔴 Fort St. James is connected to British Columbia’s Highway of Tears. This is a section of the Yellowhead Highway recognized for a disproportionately high number of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people.

🔴 Red Dress Day was inspired by Métis artist Jamie Black, whose installation art of red dresses hung in public spaces symbolizes the absence of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people.

🔴 Parks Canada acknowledges and honours the lives of the missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit people, and is committed to truth and reconciliation, which includes raising awareness about violence against Indigenous Peoples.
