🚒Last evening we got back outside training, after a long winter and ponds finally thawed out, it was time to do some portable pump and train on our new skid unit from GlobalMedic.

💦We drafted from the portable pump and skid unit, along with pumping from skid unit tank. This unit will be a game changer for off road fires and hot spots🔥

This weekend two of our members from Forteau Fire Department participated in the "Ground Cover Firefighting for Structural Firefighters: Train the Trainer" in Deer Lake.

The course was held by Fire & Emergency Services Newfoundland and Labrador, with instructors from Fire Service Division in Manitoba.

Also we are proud to announce that Forteau Fire Department has been selected as a recipient of a brand-new Fire Skid Unit, thanks to GlobalMedic and Fire and Emergency Services NL.

This Fire Skid Unit has a 1,000-litre water tank, a high-pressure pump, and specialized hose—that can be mounted directly onto a pickup truck or UTV.

👨🏻‍🚒A Big Thank you to the International Grenfell Association and Provincial Gov, NL Fire and Emergency services for there continued support. Providing funding to purchase 8 new PFAS free suits for our members to keep them safe.
