Sitansisk (St. Mary’s) band administration will be closed from Friday, September 25 until Tuesday, October 13, following the election period and after Thanksgiving weekend.

This routine closure, which happens during every election period, is meant to create a clear separation between Band administration and the electoral process. During the election period closure, staff will not have authority to issue new payments or cheques. The closure helps protect staff, maintain administrative neutrality, and ensure that Band resources and administrative decisions remain separate from the election.

This closure does not apply to operations that need to continue providing regular services, including the Wolastoq Casino, retail sales, CPW crews, the community centre, and school operations.

We thank you for your patience during this time. For emergencies, please call our answering service at 506-458-9511.

Welcome Mark Ward, the newly selected Executive Director of Public Safety for the community of Sitansisk. Mark is a member of our community who has spent the past 27 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where his previous position had him overseeing the Indigenous Policing Services Section within the Province of New Brunswick. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position and looks forward to being part of the Sitansisk team.

The Executive Director of Public Safety provides strategic leadership, direction and oversight for the community of Sitansisk's public Safety portfolio. This newly created position is responsible for ensuring the effective, coordinated and accountable delivery of services that contribute to the safety, security, infrastructure, and overall well-being of all community members. Mark will be focused on the development and implementation of community Bylaw management and enforcement; monitoring policing files; overseeing emergency measures operations, community public works and community security services. This will be attained by working closely with Sitansisk's own internal programs, external partners including all levels of government, Chief and Council all with the goal of community safety in mind.
