Arrest made in drug trafficking Investigation.

In April 2026 the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) began an investigation in relation to a Intraprovincial drug trafficker.

As a result of the investigation a 29 year old female from Miramichi was arrested without incident on May 28th 2026 by the Miramichi and Bathurst IEU's and Miramichi Police Force patrol division.

Seized as a result of the investigation over 1.5 kilograms grams of suspected m**hamphetamine.

The female was taken into custody and was turned over to Correctional Services of Canada as the female was currently out on parole.

Charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking of m**hamphetamine, will be laid in Provincial Court at a later date.

The matter still remains under investigation.

The New Brunswick IEU is composed of members from Municipal Police Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Department of Justice and Public Safety in the Province of New Brunswick, with a focus on drug trafficking, fi****ms offences and Organized Crime.

Drug Enforcement Investigation Leads to Two Arrests in Fredericton

A recent investigation by the Fredericton Police Force’s (FPF) Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of drugs, weapons, and stolen property.

On May 14, 2026, members of the FPF’s IEU and patrols executed a warrant at a Canada Street residence and arrested Jamie Tomah, 42, and a 43-year-old woman, both of Fredericton.

Tomah is charged with the following offences:

• S.5(2) CDSA - Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule I (co***ne)
• S.5(2) CDSA – Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule I (m**hamphetamine)
• S.145 CC - Fail to comply with Release Order
• S.733.1(1)(a) CC - Breach of Probation
• S.355(b)(ii) CC - Possession of proceeds obtained by crime
• S.355(a) CC - Possession of property obtained by crime
• S.91(1) CC - Possession of a firearm without being a holder of a license
• S.86(1) CC - Unsafe storage of a firearm

The female faces the following charges:

• S.733.1(1)(a) CC - Breach of Probation
• S.355(b)(ii) CC - Possession of proceeds obtained by crime
• S.91(1) CC - Possession of a firearm without being a holder of a license
• S.86(1) CC - Unsafe storage of a firearm
• S.5(2) CDSA - Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule I (co***ne)
• S.5(2) CDSA – Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule I (m**hamphetamine)

Items seized included approximately 12 grams of co***ne and 15 grams of m**hamphetamine, along with $3,575 in Canadian currency believed to be proceeds of crime. Police also seized drug trafficking materials, including cellphones and scales, as well as a .22 calibre rifle with ammunition and various spray deterrents.

Additional items recovered included a stolen motorbike and stolen tools, along with other equipment such as a 3D printer.

At the time of their arrest, both individuals had prior convictions and were out on court-imposed conditions.

Tomah was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court May 29, 2026. The female, who cannot be named as she has not yet appeared in court, was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in July 2026.

Tomah also faces several other charges including drug, weapons and driving related offences from another investigation.

Ongoing Drug Enforcement Efforts Lead to Four Arrests

A recent investigation by the Fredericton Police Force’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) has resulted in the arrest of four Fredericton-area people and the seizure of significant quantities of illegal drugs, including co***ne, m**h, and fentanyl.

On April 30, 2026, members of the IEU with support from FPF patrols, and K9 unit, arrested Bradley Webb, age 38 and Erica Trecartin, age 31, and seized the following items:

• Approx. 313 grams of crystal m**hamphetamine
• Approx. 27 grams of co***ne
• Approx. 5 grams of fentanyl
• Approx. $2,700 in Canadian currency, believed to be proceeds of crime
• Digital scales

Webb has been charged with possession of proceeds of crime, multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, m**hamphetamine, and co***ne, as well as breaching a conditional sentence order. Trecartin has been charged with operation while prohibited, breach of probation, and possession for the purpose of trafficking m**hamphetamine and co***ne.

Webb and Trecartin remain in custody and are currently remanded pending future court dates. At the time of their arrest, they were both facing prior drug trafficking-related charges and were out on conditions.

The two additional males, ages 36 and 25, were also arrested on scene and face trafficking related and possession related charges, respectively. Both met conditions for release pending future court dates and cannot be named as they have yet to appear in court.

This investigation reflects the ongoing efforts of the Fredericton Police Force and the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit to disrupt drug trafficking and reduce the presence of illegal drugs within the community.

Three Arrested, Charged with Drug Trafficking Following Investigation

The Fredericton Police Force (FPF) has arrested three individuals following a joint drug trafficking investigation involving the FPF’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) and Direct Action Response Team (DART), with support from patrols and the Force’s General Investigative Unit.

The arrests were made Friday, April 17, after the ex*****on of a search warrant at a downtown Fredericton location. Members of the FPF’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), supported by Saint John Police Force’s Emergency Tactical Services Team (ETS), FPF’s Police Dog Services (K9), and patrol officers assisted with the ex*****on of the warrant.

Police seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, drug packaging materials and digital scales, along with a rifle and ammunition, during the search.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew McCloskey, 43, of Fredericton, has been charged with the following offences:

• Fail to comply with a release order, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code

McCloskey was remanded into custody until a future court date.

A 49 year old woman of Fredericton was also arrested and charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code

She was released on conditions.

A second 38-year-old woman of Fredericton was also arrested and faces the same charges. She was released unconditionally.

The identities of both women are not being released at this time, as the matters have not yet been before the courts.

Fredericton’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) is composed of Fredericton Police Force officers, members of the New Brunswick RCMP, and Justice and Public Safety officers. The NBIEU units operate within nine municipal police forces across the province, strengthening the coordinated response to rising concerns about drugs, fi****ms, and organized crime in New Brunswick.

The Fredericton Police Force’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) strengthens training for junior officers while addressing community concerns related to public drug use, petty crime, and street-level disorder. Working with community partners, the team collaborates with specialized units and frontline officers to enhance officer safety, support investigations and coordinate responses during targeted operations.

The Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) make an arrest in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

Over the past few months the Miramichi IEU conducted an investigation into the trafficking of Controlled Substances into the City of Miramichi and surrounding communities.

As a result of the investigation on April 23rd 2026, the Miramichi IEU with assistance from the Fredericton IEU arrested a 58 year old male from Baie-Sainte- Anne along with a 40 year old female from Miramichi without incident.

As a result of their arrest, the following was seized:
• 34.62 grams of suspected co***ne;
• 52.01 grams of suspected fentanyl;
• 58 Hydromorphone of various strengths;
• 101 various pills;
• Canadian Currency;
• Drug trafficking paraphernalia;

On April 24th 2026, Yves Savoie of Baie-Sainte-Anne appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court at which time he was charged with the following offences:

• Possession of co***ne for the purpose of trafficking;
• Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking;
• Possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking;
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking;
• Possession of Morphine for the purpose of trafficking;
• Possession of Diazepam for the purpose of trafficking.

Bail Hearing was scheduled for Savoie to take place on April 28th 2026.

The female was released and will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.

The matter remains under investigation.
