Arrest made in drug trafficking Investigation.
In April 2026 the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) began an investigation in relation to a Intraprovincial drug trafficker.
As a result of the investigation a 29 year old female from Miramichi was arrested without incident on May 28th 2026 by the Miramichi and Bathurst IEU's and Miramichi Police Force patrol division.
Seized as a result of the investigation over 1.5 kilograms grams of suspected m**hamphetamine.
The female was taken into custody and was turned over to Correctional Services of Canada as the female was currently out on parole.
Charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking of m**hamphetamine, will be laid in Provincial Court at a later date.
The matter still remains under investigation.
The New Brunswick IEU is composed of members from Municipal Police Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Department of Justice and Public Safety in the Province of New Brunswick, with a focus on drug trafficking, fi****ms offences and Organized Crime.
