The New Brunswick RCMP has arrested two individuals following a drug investigation in the communities of Killarney Road and Penniac, N.B.

In February 2026, members of the New Brunswick RCMP’s Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) and the Fredericton Police Force’s Integrated Enforcement Unit began an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the Killarney Road and Penniac areas.

On August 26, 2026, at approximately 5 a.m., members of the New Brunswick RCMP’s PCRU, Keswick detachment, Emergency Response Team, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, Fredericton Police Force, and Justice and Public Safety simultaneously executed search warrants at residences on Route 148 in Killarney Road, and on River Road in Penniac.

During the searches, police seized quantities of what are believed to be co***ne, psilocybin, drug paraphernalia, and cash. A 47-year-old man from Killarney Road, N.B. and a 24-year-old man from Penniac, N.B., were arrested without incident.

Both men were later released and will appear in court at a later date.

Coordinated Investigation Targets Illegal Drug Activity

The Fredericton Police Force conducted a targeted drug enforcement operation in the 200 block of Maliseet Drive early this morning as part of an ongoing Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) investigation.

The operation was coordinated with the New Brunswick RCMP, which carried out related enforcement activities at two other locations in the region as part of the broader investigation.

Members of the Fredericton Police Force Emergency Response Team (ERT), Patrol Division, Police Dog Services (K9) and NB RCMP ERT executed the operation between approximately 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. There was no risk to public safety at any time.

No arrests were made during the Fredericton operation; however, the investigation is ongoing as part of a coordinated enforcement investigation with NB RCMP’s Provincial Crime Reduction Unit.

Fredericton’s Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) is composed of Fredericton Police Force officers, members of the New Brunswick RCMP, and Justice and Public Safety officers. The NBIEU units operate within nine municipal police forces across the province, strengthening the coordinated response to rising concerns about drugs, fi****ms, and organized crime in New Brunswick.

Arrest made in drug trafficking Investigation.

On July 28th 2026, the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) arrested a 43 year old man as the result of drug trafficking investigation in the City of Miramichi without incident.

Seized as a result of the arrest was a quantity of suspected fentanyl, co***ne, methamphetamine, he**in, hydromorphone along with a loaded handgun.

On July 29th 2026, Jerod Nowlan appeared in Provincial Court at which time he was charged with the following offences:

- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of He**in for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of Co***ne for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of Hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of a loaded restricted firearm;
- Carrying a concealed weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying a firearm in a careless manner.

Nowlan was remanded into custody and will be appearing at a later date for a Bail Hearing.

Le 10 août 2026, le Groupe intégré de l'application de la loi, en collaboration avec la Force policière d'Edmundston, a exécuté un mandat de perquisition en vertu de la Loi réglementant certaines drogues et autres substances dans une résidence située sur la rue Saint-François à Edmundston.

Une femme de 60 ans a été arrêtée et plusieurs objets saisis, dont une quantité de comprimés de méthamphétamine, du matériel associé au trafic de stupéfiants et une somme d'argent.

On August 10, 2026, the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Edmundston Police Force, executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence on Saint-François Street in Edmundston.

A 60-year-old woman was arrested, and several items were seized, including a quantity of methamphetamine tablets, drug trafficking-related equipment, and cash.

Over one kilogram of fentanyl has been seized and two individuals have been sentenced in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Moncton, N.B.

On April 14, 2026, members of the Codiac Crime Reduction Unit - Priority Offender (CRU-PO) and the Codiac Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) began two separate investigations into the trafficking of illegal drugs in Moncton. As the investigations progressed, police determined that the individuals involved were connected.

On May 7, members of the Codiac CRU-PO and IEU, with assistance from members of the Codiac Crime Reduction Unit – Property Crime, executed a search warrant at a residence on Main Street in Moncton. During the search, police seized approximately 550 grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine, illegal ci******es, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and cash. A 58-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.

On May 8, members of the Codiac CRU-PO and IEU, with assistance from members of the Codiac Crime Reduction Unit – Property Crime, Codiac General Investigations section and Codiac General Duty, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Leopold F. Belliveau Drive in Moncton. During the search, police seized drug paraphernalia and cash. A 28-year-old woman, a 24-year-old woman, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. Police seized approximately 527 grams of fentanyl as a result of searches incidental to the arrests.

The 24-year-old woman and 39-year-old woman were later released.

Also on May 8, 58-year-old Catherine Joy Cook and 28-year-old Jessie-Lynn Fillmore were both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl for which they both later plead guilty.

On June 10, Catherine Joy Cook was sentenced to seven years, 10 months and seven days in prison, minus time served. She also received a 10-year weapons prohibition order and was ordered to provide a DNA sample.

On July 28, Jessie-Lynn Fillmore was sentenced to eight years in prison. She also received a 10-year weapons prohibition order and was ordered to provide a DNA sample.

“Fentanyl continues to have devastating impacts on individuals, families and communities across the province,” said Staff Sergeant Joel Arsenault from the Codiac Regional RCMP. “This seizure and the significant sentences imposed reflect the seriousness of these offences and our ongoing commitment to protecting the public by targeting those responsible for trafficking these dangerous substances.”

Arrest made in drug trafficking Investigation.

On July 16th 2026, the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) with the assistance of the Patrol and Criminal Investigation Division arrested a 26 year old male in relation to a co***ne trafficking investigation.

Seized as a result of the investigation was 274 grams of suspected co***ne and over $19,000 in currency.

On July 17th 2026, Jordan Lobb-Carter appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court at which time he was formally charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in Co***ne.

Lobb-Carter is scheduled to appear for Election in relation to this charge next month.

Arrest made in drug trafficking Investigation.

In April 2026 the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) began an investigation in relation to a Intraprovincial drug trafficker.

As a result of the investigation a 29 year old female from Miramichi was arrested without incident on May 28th 2026 by the Miramichi and Bathurst IEU's and Miramichi Police Force patrol division.

Seized as a result of the investigation over 1.5 kilograms grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The female was taken into custody and was turned over to Correctional Services of Canada as the female was currently out on parole.

Charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking of methamphetamine, will be laid in Provincial Court at a later date.

The matter still remains under investigation.
