The Winter’s Tale is a moving tragicomic story of jealousy, betrayal, and reconciliation.
When Leontes, the king of Sicilia, impulsively accuses Queen Hermione of adultery with the Bohemian king, Polixenes, he shocks those closest to him. Loyal friends and family are cast aside, and a newborn’s life hangs in the balance. Sixteen years later, however, hope appears for the mending of old wounds in the blooming love between a Bohemian prince and a shepherdess whose destiny is greater than either could imagine, setting the stage for one of Shakespeare’s most magical and surprising endings.
The Winter’s Tale will be performed in an intimate, accessible format in a single location under a large pine tree in Odell Park.
Love’s Labour’s Lost is a witty romantic comedy, updated to a fabulous 1980s rock and roll setting!
After the failure of their last record, Ferdinand, leader of the prog rock band Navarre, gathers his bandmates, Berowne, Longaville, and Dumaine. His plan: to cloister themselves at a historic church, swearing off food, sleep, and (especially) women while they work on a brilliant new album that he hopes will resurrect their career. No sooner do the men make their vows than the Princess of France and her New Wave bandmates, Rosaline, Katherine, and Maria, arrive at the church to negotiate a contract on behalf of their record company. Will the four men be able to keep their oaths? What do YOU think?
Love’s Labour’s Lost will be performed outside Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Fredericton, with the audience moving between six different locations, all within a short, easy stroll on the Cathedral grounds.
