Summer students play an important role at York Care Centre, and we are incredibly grateful for the funding that makes these opportunities possible.
Thanks to the Government of New Brunswick's Student Employment Experience Development program, we are proud to welcome three students this summer in various roles as Rehabilitation Assistant, Activity Assistant, and Junior Volunteer Coordinator. This support allows us to offer more activities for residents and continue our Junior Volunteer Program, which has grown to more than 50 volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18 this summer. Thank you to our MLA, Luke Randall for Fredericton North , and our Member of Parliament, David Myles , for supporting programs that invest in both young people and our community.
Through the Government of Canada's Canada Summer Jobs program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, we have also welcomed two Maintenance Assistants and a Wellness Coordinator supporting Hawkins House and the Adult Day Program. Their work helps keep our grounds safe and welcoming, supports resident programming, and assists with major events such as our Summer Concert Series.
These students are making a meaningful difference every day while gaining valuable hands-on experience. Thank you to both levels of government for investing in opportunities that strengthen organizations like York Care Centre and help us provide the best possible care and experiences for our residents.
