Did you know that reptiles are an important part of the Thousand Islands ecosystem? 🌲Through the Reptile and Amphibian Recovery and Education (R.A.R.E) Program, Thousand Islands National Park is helping to protect and recover species at risk through research, monitoring, habitat restoration, and public education. 🔬

Keeping pets on leash does more than keep your furry friends clean. 🫧

Leashing your dog helps:
🚫 Prevent the spread of invasive species
🪳 Keep your pet safe from ticks hiding in tall vegetation
🌱 Save plants from getting trampled

Please remember that hiking trails at Landons Bay and Jones Creek are no longer being maintained. Expect more mud and natural debris when visiting these locations. 🍂

Don’t forget to dress for the occasion – hiking boots, hats, and warm layers will go a long way in making your visit a safe and enjoyable one. 🥾😁

Last call for visitor services at Thousand Islands National Park! ⏰

As the operating season comes to a close, be sure to by checking what services and facilities are available before you arrive.
📍 Mallorytown Landing – the Visitor kiosk is now closed. Washrooms remain open daily from 9 am to 4 pm and self-serve registration is available until October 12.
🌲 Jones Creek and Landon’s Bay trails – self-serve registration is available until October 12.
🏝️ Island facilities – self-serve registration is available until October 12.

📢 ALL park services and facilities will close for the season on October 12.

Get the best of both worlds when you for a weekday visit – less crowds and fall views. 🍂

Mainland locations at Thousand Islands National Park are less busy on weekdays than on weekends. 🛣️ Enjoy more nature and fewer crowds at your next visit to Jones Creek on these trails:
🐻 Bear trail – 20 minutes, a steeper climb surrounded by rock faces and ridges
🐍 Eel loop – 20 minutes, flat forested trail with a view of Jones Creek wetlands
🐢 Turtle loop – 20 minutes, a woodland walk that opens to a forest changed by beavers
