🌳 Saying goodbye to a community friend💚

If you’ve visited the Acton Branch, chances are you’ve spent time under the beautiful sugar maple. For over 100 years, it’s been part of our shared story, offering shade on sunny days, a home for wildlife, and a meaningful connection to nature in the heart of our community.

After a careful assessment, we’ve learned the tree is no longer healthy and must be removed to keep everyone safe. While this is hard news, we’re incredibly grateful for everything it’s given our community over the years.

🗓️ Removal is scheduled for June 15, while the library is closed.

Looking ahead, we're planning to plant a new tree in the same spot 🌱 continuing our commitment to caring for our environment.

Feel free to share your memories below 💛
