🐞☀️ Braving the Bugs & the Heat! ☀️🐞
Miss Pietsch’s Grade 4/5 class rose to the challenge and took part in Greenstone’s Community Clean-Up Challenge! 💪🌍
Despite the warm weather and pesky bugs, our hardworking students showed incredible teamwork and enthusiasm. The class split into teams and turned the clean-up into a friendly competition to see who could collect the most garbage. 🗑️🏆
Together, they made a big difference by helping clean up around the school and showing pride in their community. Way to go, everyone—your efforts truly matter! 👏💚

A huge thank you to Kelly and Josée from Superior North Emergency Medical Services in Geraldton for visiting our Kindergarten class and sharing their ambulance with us today!

As part of our Community Helpers unit, our students have been learning about the important roles people play in helping keep our communities safe and healthy. Kelly and Josée took the time to show us the ambulance, explain the equipment they use, and answer all of our curious questions. The students were fascinated and loved getting a closer look at the incredible work paramedics do every day.

Their visit was especially meaningful because we are also participating in the Motive Power OYAP initiative, where we are exploring how things move and work. As part of this program, we will be building our very own cardboard ambulance! Seeing a real ambulance up close has inspired our young builders and given them lots of ideas for their upcoming project.

Thank you, Kelly and Josée, for being such amazing community helpers and for inspiring the next generation of learners, builders, and problem-solvers!

June 1 is Ontario Day! 🍁
Ontario Day is an opportunity to celebrate the people, cultures, histories, innovations, and achievements that have helped shape our province and our country.
Home to approximately 14.5 million people — nearly 38% of Canada’s population — Ontario is a rich and diverse province where residents, past and present, have made countless contributions to Canada’s social, economic, political, and cultural fabric.
Officially proclaimed under the Ontario Day Act in 2021, Ontario Day encourages us to reflect on the important role Ontario and Ontarians continue to play in Canada, while helping future generations learn about the stories, milestones, and communities that make our province unique.
Throughout the day, SGDSB schools may participate in learning activities and celebrations that recognize Ontario’s diversity, history, innovation, and community spirit.
Happy Ontario Day from Superior-Greenstone District School Board!
