WHAT A DAY!!!!
Limerick Township Fire Department, FireSmart Canada sponsored BBQ, absolutely knocked it out of the park today — and yes, the burgers were sizzling, the mayors and councillors were mingling with residents, and the firefighters were glowing like proud parents at graduation.
GlobalMedic — the powerhouse Canadian humanitarian organization that rushes into disasters with clean water, medical aid, and emergency support — rolled in and casually dropped THREE brand‑new tanks like it was Christmas morning in June.
One each for Tudor / Cashel Township, Wollaston Township, and Township of Carlow/Mayo .
And yes, we cheered loud enough to scare a few mosquitoes back into the swamp.

We also had drown‑demonstrations (don’t worry, nobody drowned — it’s the equipment), and one of those beauties is staying right here with the Limerick Township Fire Department.
Meanwhile, the Coe Hill ATV Riders were out tearing up the trails to raise funds for our volunteer firefighters — because nothing says “community support” like mud, horsepower, and heart.
And then… the mayoral lineup.
A full political red‑carpet moment:
- Kim Carson – Mayor of Limerick
-Dave Hederson – Mayor of Tudor & Cashel
-Michael Fuerth – Mayor of Wollaston
-Randy Wallace – Mayor of Carlow Mayo
All present, all smiling, all accepting these incredible donations on behalf of their communities.
Presiding over the whole glorious event:
Fire Chief Greg Maxwell, the world’s calmest ringmaster, flipping burgers like a man born for the apron. His crew of volunteer firefighters served up burgers, hotdogs, and fries — all fresh, all hot, all cooked with the kind of love only small‑town heroes can deliver.
PLUS — Tudor & Cashel’s newest pride and joy, the Fire Pumper and Tank, was on full display for photos, gawking, and “I want one” comments. Limerick also rolled out several of their trucks, because why not turn the whole thing into a fire‑truck fashion show.
Greg introduced GlobalMedic, explained why their visit mattered, and laid out exactly how this donated equipment will help protect our rural communities when seconds count.
🔥 A massive thank‑you to GlobalMedic.
🔥 A massive thank‑you to our volunteer firefighters.
🔥 A massive thank‑you to everyone who came out, ate, cheered, donated and danced between the raindrops.
Today was communities at their finest — loud, proud, hungry, generous, and absolutely unstoppable.
Our own camera shy clerk, Nancy Carroll, was helping at the grill, our ever present Deputy Mayor, Bob Bridger, out showing his support and admiring our recent acquisition and Counsellor Elaine Greaves Holloway couldn't pass up a photo opportunity with Sparky and hopping into our shiny new to us Red Pumper/Tank Truck.
