This week Glassville Fire was paged to the scene of an accident involving a tractor/trailer and a small passenger vehicle. Members were first on scene and quickly disabled the vehicle by cutting the battery wires and also provided first aid comfort to those involved. Both occupants of the vehicle suffered only minor injuries and no harm came to the driver of the transport truck. This incident occurred on a narrow section of back road at a bridge crossing. Please be aware of large vehicles that do not know our roads and take extra caution in icy conditions. We are seeing more and more heavy trucks on our roads as drivers follow their GPS blindly to their destination, not aware of the roads twists, turns and narrow passing places. This could have quite easily been a much more serious and tragic incident, all involved were extremely lucky to escape with minimal injuries. Please be cautious and aware when approaching narrow stone bridges, there could be a truck or farm equipment coming the other way. Thanks so much to ANB and RCMP for their quick response and dedication.
