The three Towns were settled around the late 19th century with Birchy Head and Shoal Brook being named for geological features and Glenburnie named as a tribute to the scottish origins of its original settler, Mr. The three communities became incorporated as one in 1978. The population according to the 2021 census was 241 residents. However, this number rises dramatically in the tourist season! To

The Bonne Bay Pond public disposal site is open EVERY SATURDAY.

The Town Sponsors Drop off for Residents of GBS and Woody Point on the 1st Saturday of each month plus on the last day open for the year (dates outlined on the poster)

Please remember this is NOT for commercial amounts of disposal or for commercial use. Also, it is a PAID site (except for the town-sponsored days). Please DO NOT drop off items during the week. Doing so is illegal dumping and you may be subject to a fine!
