Our Grant Writing Workshop for Rural Businesses & Community Organizations is a free, in-person session designed to help you move from a good idea to a more complete, funder-ready application.

Whether you’re applying to the Rural Ontario Development Program, exploring other grants, or just trying to understand what funders are really asking for, this workshop will help you feel more prepared.

You’ll learn how to clarify your project goals, audience, partners, activities, timeline, budget, and impact — and how to write responses that are clear, concise, compelling, and aligned with program guidelines.

Homegrown is almost here, and Huron Business Centre is proud to continue supporting a gathering we’ve been part of since its first event in 2024.

Homegrown brings together rural female business owners from across the region for a day to learn among peers, access business resources, and share their vibrant and unique businesses.

Events like this are important, particular in rural regions, because entrepreneurship can be rewarding, lonely, and challenging. Community is an important part of helping business owners thrive and Homegrown creates space for that to happen.

We’re looking forward to a meaningful and inspring alongside many Huron County business owners!

🎉We’re proud to welcome the 2026 Summer Company participants! This talented group of young entrepreneurs will be spending the summer building real businesses right here in Huron County. We kicked off the program earlier this week to allow the participants a chance to meet in person.

Starting something from scratch takes guts, creativity and a lot of follow-through — and we can’t wait to support this group along the way. They’ll receive training, mentorship and hands-on support as they learn what it takes to run a small business day to day.
