Compensation:

Starting pay rate of $20.00-$23.00 per hour PLUS compensation for mileage

Betamarsh is hiring Night-Awake Residential Counsellors (Full-Time)
Position: We are seeking permanent employees who are responsible for providing adequate support and safety during the night. All employees will be provided with paid training in Trauma-Informed Care and Crisis Intervention.

Hourly Starting Rate:

$17.00/hour to $19.00/hour depending on education and experience + $3.00/hour Temporary Wage Enhancement (as per MCCSS COVID-19 support).

Job Summary:

Night-Awake Residential Counsellors provide support to individuals and ensure their well-being and safety during the night hours. Night-Awake Residential Counsellors maintain health and safety standards, in addition to attending to the physical, emotional, and medical needs of our clients. In addition, Night-Awake Residential Counsellors will apply their knowledge from Trauma-Informed Care and Crisis Intervention Training to provide stabilization and consistent guidance for our clients.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Psychology, Sociology, Social Worker, Child and Youth Worker or another related field
• Six months experience in a related field – preferred
• Able to provide physical assistance where applicable and behavioural support as required
• Able to implement positive behavioral approaches, work as an integral part of the team and demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate creative problem-solving and decision-making, initiative, resilience, and collaboration
• Valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
• The successful candidate will have strong organizational, housekeeping/cleaning and communication skills
• Knowledge of Betamarsh administration procedures is considered an asset.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector

Start Date: Immediately

Hours:

84 hours per two-week pay period
Continental Rotation
9pm-9am
