On Aug 4, 2026 our team was tasked to a call for a paraglider that crashed after launching from Mt 7. The crew was dropped at the launch where they were able to walk down to the patient. They were able to administer pain meds for a severe lower leg injury as well as hand injustices. The patient was packaged and then long lined from the site to the reflection lake parking lot for transport to hospital. Big thanks to Alpine Helicopters Inc. 🚁 for your help on this one.

June training for GADSAR involved quads learning access routes to the bike trails around Golden as well as over the bank rope rescue techniques. All important tools we use regularly in calls in the Spring/Summer/Fall months.

On June 14, GADSAR was tasked to a call in the bugaboos for a 30 year old female hiker who fell descending the trail below the kain hut. She slipped in snow and slid 10-15m and hit her head and shoulder on rocks causing a severe laceration to her head and pain in her shoulder.

We slung in with 2 techs and flew the subject and her partner back to the kain hut where we loaded everyone into the heli and continued to Invermere where we met BC Emergency Health Services who transported the subject to Invermere Hospital. 🏥

Big thanks to Alpine Helicopters Inc. 🚁 for getting us in and out safely.

*Something to note is that there is still lots of snow in the Alpine so please be prepared when you are adventuring out there*

On Sunday June 14, GADSAR responded to a call in the bugaboos for a 30 year old female injured hiker below the Karin Hut. She slipped in snow and slid 10-15m and hit her head and shoulder on rocks causing a severe laceration to her head and pain in her shoulder.

We slung in with 2 techs to the site and were able to fly her and her partner out safely. We transported to Invermere where we were met by BC Emergency Health Services who transported to Invermere hospital.

Thanks Alpine Helicopters Inc. for getting us in and out safely.

*Something to keep in mind, there is still@lots of snow in the alpine. Please prepare accordingly for your adventures*

On Sunday May 24, 2026 A man wandered into the woods in the dark and became disoriented and could not find his way back. With a vague gps location to work off of, a team of 3 with a Wilderness search dog located the man, exhausted and cold but otherwise uninjured. Another team of 3 came in with equipment to keep him warm and transport him back to safety.

GADSAR was tasked to a rescue on the bugaboos to rogers pass traverse for a ski guide with a shoulder injury, we initially flew in and couldn’t get to them because of embedded cloud over the glacier/area they were in.

We waited out the weather and once able to get to the injured party we transported them back to Golden for medical care.

Big thanks to and on this task for looking after our crew and getting us where we need to be safely.

Two members flew out to fairy meadows on Monday April 13 to pick up a skier who had sustained a lower leg injury. The team had to wait out some weather due to poor visibility but was eventually able to land and quickly load the patient for transfer back to BCAS.

A super cool part of this call is that one of our long time members has become a physician and can now use those skills during our SAR calls. We are stoked to have such a versatile team here in Golden!
