ATTENTION LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS! 📣

We need your help to make a difference for children in our community this back-to-school season!

The Exploits Valley YMCA is collecting donations during our Cram the Van donation drive to help ensure local children and families have the tools they need for a successful school year.

Whether you can donate supplies, make a monetary contribution, or help spread the word, every donation can help a child start the school year with confidence.

Donations can be dropped off at 26 Cromer Avenue on Friday, August 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. or at the Y2C building at 34 Bond Street, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Every donation leaves a lasting impact. The more support we receive, the more children and families we can help.

ATTENTION PARENTS

Back to school is almost here, and we're here to help! ✏️🎒

The Exploits Valley YMCA is proud to support single parents and their children’s educational needs through our annual back-to-school donation drive. This year, we've partnered with Paul Davis Restoration Central Newfoundland and Labrador to CRAM THE VAN full of school supplies.

Registration is now open until Friday, August 21 at 11:59 p.m. here: https://bit.ly/4qfbjVJ

School supplies can be picked up on Monday, August 24 or Tuesday, August 25, from 2:00–6:00 p.m.

Any supplies not picked up by August 26 will be donated to local schools to ensure they continue supporting children in our community.

On behalf of all our excited campers, we'd like to send a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who supported our summer camp lemonade stand this past Friday.

Despite the heat shutting us down early, you helped them raise $182 towards summer camp initiatives.

There is power in community and it's great to see people come together.

⏰ Reminder: Swim Lesson Registration Opens Today! 🌊

Registration for our final session of Summer Group Swim Lessons opens today at 5:00 PM!

💻 Registration is online only.
✅ Please make sure everyone you’re registering has an active YMCA membership before 5:00 PM, as memberships cannot be started or renewed during registration.

🏊 Space is limited for this final session due to fewer instructors being available, so be ready when registration opens. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Need help? YMCA staff will be available at the Service Desk starting at 5:00 PM to assist with the online registration process.

*Important notice for AquaFit members* 📣

Please note that due to instructor availability, AquaFit will be self-guided during the following times:

• Thursday, August 13 from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m.
• Monday, August 17 from 9:00 to 9:50 a.m.

The pool will remain open, and participants are welcome to enjoy their workout by following the posted AquaFit routine while listening to music.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Today's Summer Camp Fundraiser is still on for noon!

The sun is out; it's Friday, and we have JUST the thing you need to make your day even better - lemonade and cookies. That's right, cookies with an 's' - plural.

Now, for the price of just $3, you get lemonade, two cookies, and a chance to make our 2027 summer camps even better while putting a smile on the faces of our campers.

Our amazing little campers will be set up at Kent Building Supplies from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

We hope to see you there! :)

Tomorrow, August 8, Brett's Stand for Diabetes is hosting a wonderful event to raise awareness about individuals and families impacted by Type 1 Diabetes. Lunch will be provided by the lovely folks at Central Meats Butcher Shop and will be available for purchase starting at 11:00 a.m.

Ride, race, wheel or jog. The event kicks off at 10:00 a.m. from Wigwam Point in the Town of Peterview.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion this fall? Our fall pool rentals will be available to book beginning August 13, alongside our fall gymnasium rentals.

Rental rates remain unchanged:
• Members: $200 (includes pool and party room)
• Non-members: $250 (includes pool and party room)

Please note: Pricing is the same whether or not the party room is used. Discounts are not available if the party room is not utilized.

Fall rental times are Saturdays and Sundays, with pool access from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m and the party room available from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
