🚨New item alert in our Library of things 🚨 We are so fortunate to be able to offer Cognitive Activity Kits from the Alzheimer Society. What is a Cognitive Activity Kit? These kits are inspired by Montessori principles and focus on abilities rather than limitations. The themed kits have been designed to support meaningful connection, engagement and enjoyment for individuals living with dementia. All you need is your library card! Thank you to the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County for this wonderful resource!

Message from our board chair Lenora Banfield.

On behalf of the Board, it is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Sarah McTaggart as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Valley Public Library.

Sarah was selected following a rigorous and comprehensive recruitment process. The hiring committee approached this responsibility with great care and deliberation, recognizing the significant role our library plays in the life of our community and ensuring our library remains the inclusive, welcoming space for all to experience and enjoy.

You may already know Sarah through her work as the Grand Valley Public Library’s Programs and Outreach Manager, where she has helped connect the library with the community it serves. Her familiarity with the library, her community-driven approach to advocacy, and her warm and welcoming demeanour are qualities we look forward to seeing carried forward in her new role as CEO.

The Board is confident in Sarah’s appointment and believes it marks an important step forward for the Grand Valley Public Library. We look forward to her leadership as we continue to strengthen community connections, champion the vital role of public libraries, and ensure that the library remains a welcoming, inclusive, and valued resource for everyone in our community.

For those in our community who may not yet know Sarah, we invited her to share a few photos reflecting her time with the Grand Valley Public Library. With five years of experience working right here in our community, Sarah had plenty of wonderful moments to choose from! These photos offer a glimpse into the connections she has built and the work she has been part of over the years.

We are delighted to welcome Sarah into her new role as CEO and are excited to see what the future holds for the Grand Valley Public Library under her leadership. We look forward to the next chapter and all that we can accomplish together with our staff, partners, and community.
