From August 20-31, 2026, residents can expect increased truck traffic in the area of the water treatment plant and baseball diamonds as cap fill materials are transported for the Grande Cache Landfill project. Trucks will be operating daily between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Work on the Grande Cache Landfill cap fill project is expected to continue through October 2026. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Please stay alert and exercise caution when travelling in the area.

🚧 Construction Notice – 100 Street, Grande Cache: Construction on 100 Street in Grande Cache will begin on September 1, 2026. Work will include asphalt, sidewalk, curb and gutter improvements.

Please watch for workers and equipment, slow down and obey all posted construction signs. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed.

Flashing lights on the side of the road mean someone is working just a few feet from moving traffic.

When you approach a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights flashing, slow down and move over when it is safe to do so. It is more than a courtesy. It is the law, and it can be the difference between someone finishing their shift safely or not making it home.

In Alberta, when passing an emergency vehicle with flashing lights, drivers are required to slow down to 60km/h or the posted speed limit, whichever is lower in the lane next to the stopped emergency vehicle. If possible, provide one lane of space on multi-lane roadways.

Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, tow truck operators and other roadside workers all have people waiting for them at home. A spouse, children, parents, friends, and coworkers. They deserve the same thing we all do at the end of a workday: to make it home safely.

Please pay attention, give them room and reduce your speed.

See flashing lights. Slow down. Move over. Get everyone home safely.
