Members of City Council are joining in the fun alongside residents and visitors as the community comes together to celebrate the end of summer.

There’s still lots to enjoy tonight:

🎸 Live music throughout the evening, with Canadian rock legends Trooper taking the stage at 9 p.m.

🍴 Food and beverage vendors on site.

🎉 Family-friendly activities and community booths inside The Bowes.

Experience Grande Prairie is free to attend and runs until 11 p.m.

🚌 New to Grande Prairie Transit or want to feel more comfortable riding the bus?

Join us for a free Transit Discovery Tour on September 16 or 18 to learn how to use the transit system through an indoor Transit 101 session and a guided bus tour.

Participants will learn practical skills like planning a trip, paying fares, making transfers and requesting a stop, while getting familiar with the Town Centre Mall Transit Hub.

Along the route, participants will also visit organizations featured in the Passport to Grande Prairie, learn about community services and collect Passport stamps.

📅 September 18 | 2 to 4:30 p.m.

🌲 FireSmart™ vegetation management has resumed along the Bear Creek Corridor, currently behind residences in Mission Heights and Grande Banks.

These efforts help reduce wildfire risk and improve access for firefighters in higher-risk areas along the corridor.

Over the next couple of months, residents may notice additional workers, equipment and signage. Trails remain open but will also be used for access and debris removal. Please avoid active work zones and follow posted signage.

☀️ One last summer adventure before September?

Make it GP Transit Quest! This is the final weekend for youth ages 6-17 to take on five missions across Grande Prairie while learning a useful life skill along the way: how to get around the city by transit.

They’ll practice reading routes, making transfers and getting to places they already want to go, building the confidence to take the bus more independently in the future. And for parents? That could mean a few less drives across town.

Complete all five missions this weekend for a chance to win an iPad. Every registered Quester also receives a free Eastlink Centre day pass.

The quest ends August 31. Make one of the last adventures of summer count!

The visit was an opportunity to see the facility firsthand and learn more about the work happening at Maskwa Medical Center to support health care in Grande Prairie and the region.

Through Invest NW Alberta, the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie No. 1, and the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16 are working together to strengthen investment attraction across the Grande Prairie-Greenview region. By looking beyond municipal boundaries and bringing our individual strengths to the table, we can present a more connected, competitive and business-minded region to investors.

We were pleased to recently welcome representatives from the Marubeni Corporation and showcase the opportunities, industries and advantages our region has to offer.
