Sometimes, the biggest difference we can make in a child’s life starts with something as simple as giving them a place to belong.

At BIG Horizons After-School & Summer Program, we’re doing more than filling the hours after school. We’re building friendships, growing confidence, creating memories, and giving local kids a safe space where they can simply be kids.

And the best part? Our program is completely FREE for families!

Grande Prairie knows how important it is to have programs like this available. But keeping these opportunities accessible to every child takes a community that believes in them.

That’s where YOU come in!

This Sunday, October 18, our friends United Way Alberta Northwest are hosting the Heli-Drop, with proceeds supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie & Area!

This is about so much more than a chance to win $10,000.

It's about making sure children in our community have somewhere safe to go after school. Somewhere they belong. Somewhere they can build friendships, discover new interests, receive encouragement, and simply be kids.

BIG Horizons is a FREE after-school program for local families. We believe opportunities like this shouldn't be a luxury. They should be something every community works to protect.

But programs like ours don't continue on good intentions alone. They need people, partnerships, and a community willing to stand behind them.

Thanks to United Way Alberta Northwest, Heli-Drop is one of those opportunities to come together and make a difference.

A huge thank you to New Horizon Co-operative for generously donating the $500 gift card and helping us make this extra special for our youth.

Bring an adult with you and come join the fun! Once all the golf balls have been collected and counted, we will announce that same day which youth has won the $500 Co-op Gift Card.

This competition is only open to youth who are actively registered in a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie program.

Golf Fore! Kids’ Sake 2026 is officially in the books, and we really couldn’t have done it without you!

There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes to bring an event like this together, but seeing the course full of people laughing, having fun and coming together to support local kids makes it all worth it.
