Thank you to our guests, sponsors, silent auction donors, YWCA Board members, nominators, staff, entertainers, volunteers, and everyone who helped make our 20th Annual Women of Distinction Gala such a special celebration of our 2026 recipients. 💜

The success of the event could not be possible without your support. All proceeds of the gala directly support YWCA Sudbury's gender-based violence prevention programs for youth.

We can't wait to share more on the event, along with incredible photos take by Melissa Urso from . Stay tuned!🌟

Sharing this post from one of our community partners because it says it all. YWCA Sudbury was part of the organizing committee and joined survivors, friends, allies, and agency staff and board members to Take Back the Night.

Today, September 30, Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, is an opportunity to honour the children who never returned home and to recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities.

We encourage everyone to learn about the truth of residential schools, listen to the stories of Survivors and Indigenous voices, and support local Indigenous communities. One place to begin is by reading 21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act by Bob Joseph and by visiting orangeshirtday.org.
