This week's features Guelph Wellington Seniors Association () !🚶🚶‍♀️

With funding support for walking poles and equipment, GWSA launched a welcoming Walking Club that helps older adults stay active, improve balance, build strength, and reduce the risk of falls. Meeting twice a week, the club quickly became a popular part of members’ routines, attracting steady participation and creating new opportunities for friendship and connection!

Participants reported feeling happier, more motivated, less isolated, and more engaged with their community. What started as a simple walking program grew into a welcoming community where members encouraged one another, built confidence, and created meaningful connections!

We are grateful to have been able to help fund such a meaningful initiative that supports healthy aging, social connection, and community well-being!

On Friday, we were so excited to join in the ribbon cutting and celebration of the grand opening of Welcome to Waterloo Avenue! 🏡💙💚

Located at 107–109 Waterloo Avenue in Guelph, this new supportive housing location will provide youth with safe and affordable housing as well as 24/7 wrap-around supports and opportunities to build independence and life skills.

We were want to share a huge congratulations to all the organizations involved, Wyndham House , Family & Children's Services of Guelph and Wellington County and our partners in the Home For Good Campaign, United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin 👏👏

🧠 Did you know that October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month?

The Griffith and Violet Morgan Fund, an endowed fund held at GCF, supports charities in and that provide learning disability support programs for children and families.

For fundholders Dr. Griffith and Vi Morgan, this cause was deeply personal. As an educational psychologist, teacher, and probation and parole officer, Dr. Morgan witnessed firsthand the impact learning disabilities could have on a child's life, both in and outside the classroom. He dedicated his career to helping countless children overcome frustration and succeed through his compassionate and respectful approach. 🧡

Following his passing in 2004, Vi established this fund to continue his legacy and support this important cause. Today, through GCF's Community Fund, the Griffith and Violet Morgan Fund helps provide meaningful opportunities for children with learning disabilities to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. 🌠

This week's features 2025 Community Grant reciepents Child Witness Centre !✍️

In 2025 and 2026, Child Witness Centre continued to provide trauma-informed support for children, youth, and families in and Wellington County impacted by crime and abuse. They support these clients as they navigate complex legal systems and processes. Through advocacy, emotional support, and guidance, young people are empowered to feel safe, heard, and supported through these difficult challenges.

Pictured here is Monet, one of CWC's accredited facility service dogs working in the criminal justice system in the Region of Waterloo. Monet works alongside CWC's frontline workers, supporting children and youth who are victims or witnesses of crime. 🐕‍🦺

We are grateful to have been able to help fund such a vital initiative that helps children, youth, and families heal, build resilience, and move forward with hope.💜

☀️ Great weather, great conversations, and a great time!🍂

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the The Guelph Chamber of Commerce 's Business After 5 at Cox Creek Cellars Inc. ! We loved meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and sharing more about the work of the Guelph Community Foundation while enjoying pizza, local w**e, and live music from Jessica Hart. 🍷🍕🎸The evening was a wonderful reminder of the value of building local relationships and of the incredible people who make up our community. Thank you to all who attended and helped make this event so sucessful! 🙏

The Deadline to apply to the Sleeman Better Water Fund is this Monday! 💧

🍁This Canada-wide grant supports charitable organizations focused on responsible water use (conservation and preservation) or accessibility of clean water in communities. Funding requests are up to $40,000 per application! ⏰Applications will be accepted until October 19, 2026.

🍁 Cette subvention d'envergure nationale soutient les organismes de bienfaisance qui se consacrent à une utilisation responsable de l'eau (conservation et préservation) ou à l'accès à de l'eau potable au sein des communautés.
