It meant a great deal to have Dominique O’Rourke join us and take the time to speak with the people who make Guelph Independent Living what it is.

For our team, moments like this aren’t simply about having a special guest in the room. They’re about knowing that the everyday work of supporting independence, accessibility, dignity and belonging is being seen and valued.

There were smiles, conversations and plenty of pride in the room — and it was one of those moments that reminded us why this work matters so much.

We were so glad to have Mike Schreiner, MPP for Guelph, join us as we celebrated the opening of our new space at 52 Royal Road.

Looking back, what we remember most isn’t just the opening itself. It’s the conversations, the smiles, and having people from our community there to share the moment with us.

Mike, thank you for spending time with our team, learning more about what we do, and showing your support for the seniors and people with disabilities we serve.

Moving to 52 Royal was an exciting step for Guelph Independent Living, but the heart of our work remains the same — helping people have choice, stay connected, live independently, and feel that they truly belong.

It was a lovely day and one we’re still happy to look back on. Thank you for being part of it. 💛
