I am pleased to announce my candidacy as councillor for Temiskaming shores.
I was born and raised in this community and I believe strongly in serving the community in which I live. I volunteered as a firefighter for 15 years and since moving home I have been pleased to serve on the TDSS parent council as well as volunteering my time for community organizations such as the Cobalt Classic Theatre, Tri town Ski and Snowboard Village and Bike Temiskaming Shores.
I graduated from University in Ottawa and worked for Ontario Power Generation as a nuclear operator, trainer, and manager before securing a job locally as a Planning Officer. I am married with 3 daughters and have an extended family in the area.
My motivation for running for council is simply that I believe in being involved in the community in which I live. l believe that a thriving community requires successful businesses, a strong infrastructure as well as a healthy recreation and arts and culture component. My work has always involved critical thinking, problem solving and working collaboratively with others towards common goals. I believe as councillor I can offer skills that will contribute to the success of each segment of our community.
