CAFN is seeking three Members and two Alternate Members for the CAFN Election Board for the 2026 CAFN General Election (October 15, 2026). The term for the Election Board is from June to November 2026.

As per section 2.4 of the Election Rules and Regulations, a member of the Election Board shall not be:
• A member of the First Nations Council;
• A candidate for the election;
• An employee of Champagne and Aishihik First Nations; or
• An immediate family member of a candidate.

DEADLINE: Please submit your application and resume by 4:30 p.m. on June 5, 2026

Spotlight: Building a Strong Economic Future for Our Citizens

Chief and Council have recently taken important steps to strengthen economic opportunities for Champagne and Aishihik citizens.

One major milestone is the approval of a new Economic Development Strategy earlier this year. This strategy has been in the works for some time, and its approval marks an important step forward in shaping how we grow our economy in a way that reflects our values and long term vision.

This work includes:

• Implementing the new Economic Development Strategy for Champagne and Aishihik
• Developing an investment statement to guide how we grow and protect our community’s financial resources
• Working on an MOU with our community corporation Sha Shäw Corporation to ensure our economic activities are well coordinated and benefit citizens

Together, these efforts are about:

• Creating long term, sustainable economic opportunities
• Making sure economic decisions are strategic and coordinated
• Ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are felt by Champagne and Aishihik citizens

Chief and Council see this as key work that often happens “in the background,” but it is essential to moving our Nation forward and supporting our citizens today and for future generations.
