We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dysart et al Mayor Murray Fearrey on May 28th, 2026.
Murray served our community with dedication, compassion and integrity. Throughout his time in office, which spans back to 1971, he worked tirelessly to support the residents of our community at both the Dysart et al and County Council tables.
On behalf of Council and municipal staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Donna McCallum and the rest of his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside our Mayor.
Murray’s leadership, commitment, and presence will be greatly missed throughout the municipality and beyond.
Municipal flags have been lowered to half-mast in honour of Mayor Fearrey.
His family created a website in honour of his long history of community service that details many of the contributions that he made during his lifetime. https://murrayfearrey.manus.space

Tomorrow, Saturday May 30th is the second household hazardous waste event! Don’t forget to clean out your cupboards and come on out.

Our first Household Hazardous Waste Event is this Saturday.

Household hazardous waste should never be landfilled. It requires careful handling and appropriate disposal to keep staff, residents, and the environment safe.

Attend any of these 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 to safely dispose of items like oil and gas.

Minden Hills residents can attend any event in the County.

𝐃i𝐝 𝐲o𝐮 𝐤n𝐨w?
✅Take leftover paint and paint cans to Home Hardware year-round. This includes paint aerosols!
✅Empty propane tanks/cylinders are accepted at the Scotch Line Landfill
✅Household batteries can be recycled at any of our waste disposal sites
✅Lighting material is accepted at the Scotch Line Landfill

Application of final cover to landfill operations is set to begin July. In order to complete this work the West Guilford Waste Disposal Site will temporarily cease accepting construction and demolition materials. The Haliburton Waste Disposal Site will extend its hours to operate Tuesdays 8-5.
