Owls Head, NS This is a small FB page to allow posting of the location "Owls Head" Owls Head is a small community on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.

There are about 40 homes and cottages scattered along 7.4 kilometres (4.6 miles) of road. There is one church (Anglican Church of Canada) with cemetery and a United Church of Canada cemetery adjacent. Many residents make their living by fishing for lobster, bait (for the next lobster harvest), and herring. There are some private fishing wharves and one community wharf (see cover picture).

This page was made before the controversy about the proposed sale of Owls Head lands began. We don't want to take sides, but here are a site in favour (sort of) the sale, and a site opposed to it.

Something unusual seen in Owls Head. A erythristic maritime garter snake. This is reddish instead of the usual brown shades. The picture is taken inside a shed, but this animal was seen outside in the yard too.
