Bruce Grey Mentorship was developed as a response to the closing of a local BBBS program that left many children and youth in our community without the benefits and support positive mentors bring to their lives. As a local non-profit charity, Bruce Grey Mentorship provides mentoring support for children and youth in need of additional support and encouragement to reach their potential. We serve y

oung people from families where 1 or both key parent is absent, or where there is a demonstrated need, BGM provides a network of positive adults to build into their lives; role modeling social skills, respect, problem solving and positive communication skills. We are committed to children and youth in our community by promoting confidence and self-esteem through mentoring and focused attention. And we create a safe environment for our Mentees to grow and reach their potential. Raising positive contributing members of a community takes a village effort. We are here as a community resource and to support and nurture the next generation..

After our BIG CANOE adventure, our Adventure Club went on some more awesome adventures. Chasing Waterfalls in Owen Sound area, kayaking in Paisley, Caving at Greig's Caves and visiting the Grey Roots Museum and Moreland House. Summer was a great adventure here at BGM!

Thanks to Bruce Power, we have been running a new program called SKILLEX...(skills exploration). Through this program, we're discovering various hands on skills and industries in our communities with the goal of inspiring youth with career options for their future.

So far we've, toured Durham Furniture, Springhills Fish farm and Hanover Drive In. We've spent almost 2 hours on air at Bluewater Radio and learned about recording at Artie Music. As well, we're running a monthly Cooking Club and building a shed at our Clubhouse. More trips to come~

Thanks to the 100 Women who Care funding, we were able to take some of our Teens on a canoe trip. The Big Canoe Project runs group experiences out of Meaford. We chose to paddle Eugenia Lake (the day before the smoke came!!!). What an amazing day.

We'd like to thank the Community Foundation of Grey Bruce for a grant to provide free play opportunities at the KidsPlay place in Hanover. This was the first of a few trips we will take with various kids to explore, play and build community in this amazing space. Thanks to KidsPlay for hosting our first event.

Free Play is an essential part of childhood, building their imagination, learning through experimentation and promoting healthy active lifestyles. Screen free play at its finest.

We are pleased to accept a second donation from the Hanover Community Players for $582. These were the proceeds from the $1 a seat donation they run during a production.
