🔥Fire Hazard Rating for Wednesday July 22nd 2026🔥

Current Fire Hazard rating for the District of Harbour Main - Chapels Cove - Lakeview is High.

Forest vegetation continues to dry out with an increasing risk of wildfires.
A wildfire could start easily and burn quickly. Wildfire suppression would be challenging.
* Permits to Burn brush and other materials are suspended.
* Outdoor fires (e.g. campfires) are permitted with conditions.
* Activities on forested land should be conducted with extreme caution.
* Use of fire works and sky lanterns is banned.

Please follow the strict provincial guidelines when having backyard fires and ensure not to burn on or around any flammable material, have a screen over your fire pit, have a sufficient source of extinguishment and check the wind forecast / Fire Hazard Rating prior to burning.
