There will be some extra excitement in the skies over Oro-Medonte this weekend as the Canadian Snowbirds take flight ✈️

We’re proud to host the team at the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, serving as their home base for the Barrie Airshow this Saturday & Sunday.

Celebrate Summer in Oro-Medonte, here are a few events happening this week, brought to you by our local businesses and services! Make sure to check for more information and confirm times and registration.

👉 11-14th Quayle's live music, showcasing artist Brigitte Eve, Sydney Riley, Rogen Mei and Darcy Windover!

👉 14th - Quayle's Stretch and Sip Yoga event, move your body on the beautiful Quayle's property!

👉 13th - Timber Taster Run Festival at Hardwood Ski & Bike, register to run online and get a flight of beer included to celebrate crossing the finish line!

👉 11th - Thirsty Thursday at The Heights, this week's live music performance from Genevieve Cyr!

👉 13th-14th is the Snowbirds Airshow! Although it’s taking place downtown Barrie, the snowbirds are taking off right here in Oro-Medonte from their base at Lake Simcoe Regional Airport – This is the snowbirds last show in the area before the fleet retires!

👉 13th - 15th Annual Golf Fore Dogs Tournament at Horseshoe Resort! Register online, your ticket includes a round of golf, buffet lunch, silent auction + more, & your pup can come too!

👉 9th - Horseshoe Valley Run Clubs weekly meet, free to join, run the trails with friends!

Join Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services on Thursday, June 11th for an informative evening regarding local wildland fire risks, and learn how to better protect your home, property, and our community.

Presented in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, this session will highlight local wildfire hazards, and provide practical, easy steps to reduce your risk and improve preparedness. You’ll also have time to ask questions and access helpful resources.

What You Will Learn:
✅An overview of local wildland fire risks and how they impact our area
✅FireSmart strategies to help protect your home and property
✅Simple, effective ways to reduce your risk and make your property more fire-resistant
✅Tips to stay safe and prepared during wildfire events
