C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous avons appris le décès tragique de l’agent provincial Tarun Bali, de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (PPO), qui a perdu la vie dans l’exercice de ses fonctions à Hearst le 9 juin 2026. Son dévouement, son courage et son engagement indéfectible envers la sécurité de notre communauté méritent notre plus profond respect.

En cette période de deuil, nous offrons nos plus sincères et profondes condoléances à sa famille, à ses proches, à ses collègues ainsi qu’à l’ensemble de la communauté policière. Son sacrifice et son service exemplaire ne seront jamais oubliés. Qu’il repose en paix. 🕊



It is with profound sadness that we learned of the tragic passing of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Constable Tarun Bali, who lost his life in the line of duty in Hearst on June 9, 2026. His dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment to the safety of our community deserve our deepest respect.

During this time of mourning, we extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire policing community. His sacrifice and exemplary service will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace. 🕊

The Corporation of the Town of Hearst invites contractors to submit a quotation for the provision of janitorial services at one or more of the following locations:
• CM 26-01 – 801 George Street;
• DC 26-01 – Centre Éducatôt Hub (1100 Edward Street);
• ED 26-01 – Gilles Gagnon Welcome Centre / Inovo Centre (523 Highway 11 East);
• FD 26-01 – Hearst Fire Hall (1100 Front Street);
• PW 26-01 – Public Works Garage (416 George Street).

The next meeting of the Hearst and Area Long-Term Care Committee will take place on September 10th at 12 p.m. in the conference room of the Hearst Notre-Dame Hospital. Committee meetings are open to the public, everyone is welcome to attend.
