We're still reflecting on the incredible Volunteer Awards Celebration held this past Tuesday.

The evening was filled with inspiring stories and well-deserved recognition of the volunteers whose dedication, leadership, and generosity help strengthen our communities every day. Congratulations to all nominees and recipients, and thank you to every volunteer who gives their time to support others.

As we celebrate this year's honourees, we're already looking ahead to our next Volunteer Awards Ceremony in April 2027. We encourage community groups, organizations, and residents to start thinking about the volunteers who deserve recognition. Nomination forms will open in January, and we hope you'll help us shine a light on the outstanding individuals making a difference throughout our communities.

A special Thank You, goes to Volunteer Nominee, Quinn Taggart for the photos!

Together, let's continue celebrating the people who make Yarmouth County stronger. ❤️

👻 HAUNTED HIKE VOLUNTEERS! 🎃

Our Haunted Hike 2026 scare actor team is coming together, and we’re getting ready to bring the Forchu River Trail to life... or maybe the dead this Halloween. 👀

Join us for our Scare Actor Walkthrough & Planning Meeting:

📅 Tuesday, October 20th
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Meet at the Maple Grove Parking Lot

We’ll walk the trail, talk through scare locations and character ideas, pair up volunteers, go over expectations and safety, and complete volunteer waivers.

You’re welcome to walk the trail with us, but if walking isn’t your thing, you can still join us for the planning discussion!

🧟 Important: All scare actors must work in pairs. Volunteers under 16 must have a parent or guardian present.

It’s also a great chance to meet the other people helping make this year’s Haunted Hike a spooky success!
