Ahnii boozhoo! Hello everyone!
Please join Biigtigong Nishnaabeg this weekend as we celebrate our 43rd annual powwow! (July 10,11, and 12th)
There is truly nothing like the energy of a powwow- the heartbeat of Mother nature!
The stunning artistry and movement of all dancers, as they dance to the sounds of the drums inside the arbor!
Standing so close to the drum, the whole experience....you just don't hear the music, you literally feel the vibration passing right through you and into the ground!
There's a beautiful protocol and respect around the drum, too. Watching the singers completely locked in together, pouring every ounce of their energy into each song is incredible moving! Moreso when the Nishnaabeg women sing background...brings it to another whole new level!
It's the absolute core of the entire gathering...bringing us altogether as one!
Such a powerful way to honor our Nishnaabeg culture, heritage and celebrate the community connection!
So please join us this weekend. Looks to be a beautiful weekend to dance, sing and be merry!
