Hello friends and neighbors and welcome to another installment of Sam's Albert County Flashback. Here's a picture of Gord Smith's Store that used to be in Harvey at the corner of Rte 915 and Mary's Point Road. On September 13th, 1967, it became "Tingley's General Store" and owned by Cyril and Mary Tingley. It closed in 1982. The building still stands today. Picture taken in the 1930s.

Join us in celebrating the Caledonia Regional High School graduating class as they kick off their prom festivities with the annual Motarcade!

The graduates will depart from the school and travel to their respective prom destinations. Residents are encouraged to come out and cheer on the Class of 2026 as they celebrate this important milestone.

The Village of Fundy Albert is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Municipal Operations Worker to join our team!

This full-time position plays an important role in maintaining and improving the infrastructure, facilities, parks, trails, recreational amenities, and public spaces that serve our community. The successful candidate will work on a variety of municipal projects and will also assist with arena operations during the ice season.

What You'll Do:
✔ Maintain roads, sidewalks, storm drains, parks, trails, and other municipal assets
✔ Operate and maintain municipal vehicles, equipment, and tools
✔ Perform groundskeeping, mowing, brush control, and seasonal maintenance
✔ Assist with snow removal and traffic control
✔ Support arena operations, including ice installation, resurfacing, facility maintenance, and customer service
✔ Help keep municipal facilities clean, safe, and welcoming

What We're Looking For:
✅ High school diploma (or equivalent)
✅ Valid Class 5 New Brunswick Driver's Licence
✅ Ability to work safely in indoor and outdoor environments year-round
✅ Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
✅ Ability to perform physically demanding work

☀️ Summer is Almost Here! 🏊‍♀️

With the recent warmer weather, it's time to start thinking about summer fun at the pool!

Our team is currently completing maintenance and repair work, and provided everything goes according to plan, we are aiming to open the pool on Canada Day, July 1st.

We're also excited to be offering swimming lessons again this summer and look forward to welcoming back many of the participants who joined us last year. In addition, we're planning to introduce extended opening hours, including some evening swims, once all pool staff have been confirmed and the final schedule is in place.

Please bear with us while we finalize staffing and programming details. We will share the full pool schedule as soon as it is available.
