I had a wonderful time today at the 2026 Legal Aid NL Annual General Meeting.

This event is always worth celebrating, but this year was special, as it marked 50 years of Legal Aid Newfoundland and Labrador providing quality legal services to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

I was honoured to bring remarks on behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. That was a privilege on its own, but it was made even more memorable when I was able to share the stage with Chief Justice Richard Wagner, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. As always, Chief Justice Wagner had a great deal of wisdom and thoughtful advice to share with us all.

Thank you to the many people at Legal Aid NL who organized the event and thank you to all Legal Aid lawyers and staff who provide critical services every day to the people of our province.

Applications are now open for the new TakeCharge Greener Homes Program!

The TakeCharge Greener Homes Program, delivered in partnership with the Government of Canada, is an income-eligible program to help qualifying customers improve home comfort and energy efficiency through a limited number of no-cost heat pumps, heat recovery ventilators, insulation and air sealing upgrades, and home energy assessments.

Public Advisory: Temporary Disruption to Government Websites and Some Online Services

Provincial Government websites and some online services are being temporarily taken offline today as a precautionary measure following a newly disclosed global cybersecurity vulnerability.

Technical teams are assessing the technology environment and working with federal, provincial and territorial partners. Websites and services are being assessed individually to determine which can safely remain available.

Residents may experience temporary disruptions when accessing government websites and online services. Technical teams are working to restore affected services as quickly and safely as possible.

MyGovNL is not affected at this time.

The Provincial Government apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience.

I had a great time this afternoon at the NL Youth Parliament PC Caucus Meet and Greet. It was a privilege to speak with so many bright, engaged, and passionate young people who are taking an active interest in leadership and public service. The future of our province is in very capable hands!
